ABOUT ME
I live in fear.
But I also live in wonder.
I am intrigued by the intersection of space, technology and the supernatural. At this juncture of unknowns, I write to express my simultaneous fear and wonder for the future of humanity.
I explore how, against the dark inevitability of entropy, there exists an ever-hopeful cycle of life - one in which we are all unique observers, each inhabiting an insignificant fragment of both matter and time.
My particular insignificant fragment began growing up in the 1980s during the era of the military might of the Cold War, the Space Shuttle and the rise of computing. It was a time when anything seemed possible. Our visions of the future were bold, naïve and often glorious.
As a young fussy reader growing up in rural England, I didn’t read much fiction. When I did, it was classic sci-fi, horror and British comics. 2000AD was a weekly highlight, delivered through our letterbox on Saturday mornings.
Nowadays, and still a fussy reader, I divide my limited reading time between both fiction and non-fiction, gravitating towards the sci-fi and horror genres, and continuing to learn from and enjoy those who inspire me in written fiction, film and music.
Right now, I write part-time and live in the Middle East with my wife, two teenage children and two dogs.
I am afraid. Very afraid.
Read my work. You will be too.
